3 interesting cases operated at Jharkhand Cancer Centre
1. 68/f Large follicular carcinoma of thyroid compressing trachea and sternal involvement. We performed Sternal resection + Total Thyroidectomy + Bilateral (II-IV) Neck dissection + Bilateral central compartment clearance. The patient was discharged and doingwell. Planned for RAI.
2. 67/f Diagnosed as a case of Carcinoma endometrium without mets. Underwent Laparoscopic Hysterectomy + Bilateral Salpingo-oophorectomy + Bilateral Pelvic Node Dissection. Discharged uneventfully on POD 3.
3. 20 yr old girl. Mixed Germ cell tumor. Post Chemotherapy —> Abdominal RT for Retroperitoneal nodes (as it appeared unresectable) —> 2nd line chemotherapy —> still residual disease in nodes. Nodal mass encasing Bilateral CIA, CIV. Another nodal mass encasing left RA and RV and left ureter. Underwent Retroperitoneal Lymph node dissection with left nephrectomy.
