Dr. Kumar Saurabh is a pioneering force in cancer care in Eastern India and is widely recognized as the first trained Medical Oncologist of Bihar and Jharkhand. At a time when the region lacked specialized oncology services, Dr. Saurabh played a transformative role in establishing modern oncology practice in the state, laying the foundation for comprehensive and evidence-based cancer treatment.

Long before advanced cancer therapies became mainstream in the region, Dr. Saurabh introduced targeted therapy and immunotherapy in Jharkhand, achieving remarkable and often life-changing outcomes. This was during an era when most cancers were still being managed predominantly with conventional chemotherapy. His early adoption of precision oncology not only improved survival and quality of life for patients but also set new clinical benchmarks for cancer care in the state.
